About Us

Our Nursery Ethos

Our children are seen as individuals

We support every child, encouraging their individual interests and expanding their individual development and skills through play and exploration.  Our children are seen as individuals, therefore the support and development they receive is individual too. Our children are unique, and we care for them and will provide for them equally.

We are proud that we can offer a home away from home, a calm, secure and stimulating environment where the doors are always open for our families! If we can’t help you with what is needed, we will find someone that can.

At Brambles Day Nursery, it is not just our little ones that learn and grow together, we all do.

Welcoming and Inclusive Environment

Here at Brambles Day Nursery, we believe every child is unique, and we welcome children from all backgrounds and abilities. Our approach is centred around supporting individual needs while fostering strong connections with our local community. Through meaningful exploration and enrichment activities, we aim to build each child’s cultural capital and broaden their horizons.

Experiential Learning Opportunities

At Brambles, we believe learning should be hands-on and exciting. From daily forestry activities to creative dance and cooking sessions, our children engage in diverse experiences that develop their practical, social, and creative skills. Our unique “Wonder Days” introduce them to new concepts and broaden their understanding of the world.

A Child-Centred Approach

  • Walk – Encouraging physical development and active exploration.
  • Talk – Building strong communication and language skills.
  • Be Kind – Cultivating emotional intelligence and positive relationships.
  • Be Happy – Promoting overall well-being and self-confidence.
  • Independence – Supporting self-sufficiency and decision-making.
  • Wonder and Woodland – Inspiring curiosity and a love for nature.

Our curriculum is carefully designed to follow an interest-led learning approach, encouraging children to explore their passions and build essential skills through play. We focus on six key areas of development:

Safe and Stimulating Learning Space

Our nursery provides a warm, language-rich environment designed to inspire curiosity and creativity. With dedicated investigation stations, sensory experiences, and engaging daily activities, we encourage independence and exploration in every child.

Our Commitment to Excellence

Guided by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and the Characteristics of Effective Teaching and Learning (CoETL), we continuously refine our teaching practices. Our dedicated team collaborates regularly to review children’s progress and set new developmental goals, ensuring every child receives the support they need.

Meet the Team

Nursery Manager

Michelle Taylor

My name is Michelle, and I bring 24 years of experience in working with children. It is a privilege to witness their growth and development, especially as they evolve from shy, hesitant individuals into confident, independent learners.

I am deeply committed to fostering strong, positive relationships with parents, and providing ongoing support as they navigate their children’s educational journey.

My role’s central aspect is ensuring every child has a voice. I am dedicated to advocating for each child, ensuring they are heard, respected, and supported at every stage of their development.

Nursery Manager

Karen Love

My name is Karen, and I have nearly 17 years of experience in Early Years education, specialising in young children. I am passionate about fostering their growth and take pride in supporting their learning journey.

Building strong partnerships with families is key, enhancing the overall experience. I also enjoy incorporating interests like football to promote active lifestyles.

The most rewarding part of my role is seeing children’s joy and eagerness to learn each day. I recognise our vital influence in shaping their future through knowledge, guidance, and experiences.

Lindsey Westwood

“I have worked in Early Years for 23 years in a range of roles within nurseries, crèches, schools, and higher education.”

My passion has always been to provide care and education in early years and facilitate amazing memories whilst constructing the core foundation in development for children 0-5 years. After having a family of my own, my passion elevated as I wanted to ensure that not only my children, but every child had a wonderful experience and the best start in their early education period.

I qualified in 2006 as a nursery nurse, and then gained a degree in advanced practice for children, additionally most recently I have completed a master’s qualification in early education too. I have a keen interest in development both for the children and our team. Therefore, I intend to share my experience, knowledge, and skills to develop our team further.

I look forward to meeting you all and introducing you to our amazing team and provision.
