Brambles Day Nursery aims to be a fully inclusive setting. We tailor our care to suit the needs of each individual child regardless of medical or developmental needs. If your child requires additional support, we ensure that we work with the whole family.
Your child’s key person will create targeted next steps to ensure the development is progressing well and gaps are narrowed. Where additional support is needed target individual support will be assigned and any referrals made.
Our practitioners will ensure we follow a graduated approach when assessing your child’s individual needs.
We work closely with the local authority to ensure we provide the best possible care to you and your child and to ensure practitioners are up to date with relevant training on how to support your child should they need it.
Please speak with Karen, the nursery’s Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo), if you have any concerns about your child.
Once you have decided that you would like your child/ren to join us at Brambles Day Nursery, we offer a range of settling-in sessions to enable your child to settle in as best as possible and it also gives you an opportunity to ask any questions you may have.
We ask that, as a minimum, you and your child join us for 1 hour. During this time, we will complete an all about me with you and ask some questions about your child to find out their likes, dislikes, background and the family as a whole.
This session will allow your child to explore their environment but know that you are nearby for some reassurance. It will also give the key person the time to familiarise themselves with your child, their routine and to investigate the room together.
We then will offer another one or two settling in sessions, depending on your child, which will be 1-2 hours long. During this time, we ask that you leave your child in our care to see how they are without their primary caregiver nearby.
We will always call you should we feel your child is extremely distressed or unsettled and you are able to call us as often as you would like!
To ensure a smooth transition and tailored support for each child, the initial consultation is a crucial final step in the settling-in process. This step involves a structured meeting between parents and key nursery staff to discuss the child’s individual needs, preferences, and any concerns.

There are various government funding options available to assist parents with childcare expenses.
While this may not cover the full cost of childcare, it can significantly reduce the amount you need to pay. Brambles Day Nursery staff can help you access support through Universal Credit, Tax-Free Childcare, and funding for children aged 2, 3, and 4 years old.
You can get help with the cost of childcare through Tax Free Childcare in the UK: free childcare if you’re working in England.
You can get up to £500 every 3 months (up to £2,000 a year) for each of your children to help with the costs of childcare.
